Mason Plaza is on the grounds of Wheelock Library, N 26th and Adams street, Proctor Business District, Tacoma Washington.

 Allen Mason arrived in Tacoma in 1883 and immediately started promoting his adopted city. His advertisements in Eastern papers and magazines brought hundreds of people and millions of dollars in investments to Tacoma.

 He developed real-estate in North Tacoma, built street railroads, public utilities and three large commercial buildings downtown and in Old Tacoma

The six sandstone columns were originally part of Mason’s mansion which stood at N 42nd and Stevens Street, Tacoma
